Your furry family member’s safety and comfort are our top priorities while they are in our care. We’d like for The Village Vet & Pet Resort to be their home away from home, so we do everything we can to make sure that their “stay-cation” is as stress-free as possible. Please let us know if there is anything more we can do to ensure this is the case.

Dogs:

Previous to boarding, a boarding evaluation must be completed and passed, as well as obtaining full veterinary records providing all necessary information. The boarding evaluation allows the staff to appropriately assess how your pup behaves in the kennel setting and which kennel type they seem to do best in, allowing us to properly prepare for their potential stay. This must be done at least 3 days prior to the first boarding experience.
Dogs must be fully vaccinated and have a negative fecal parasite test on file. Fully vaccinated means a current annual Bordetella, DHPP, and a Rabies vaccine. We do not require the Canine Leptospirosis vaccine or the Canine Influenza vaccine, but we do recommend them both.

You are more than welcome to bring any items that you feel your sweet pup will need during boarding. Please keep in mind that sometimes, even if all measures are taken, it can be a bit stressful to be away from home. If bedding becomes soiled, it will need to be washed and runs the risk of becoming damaged. We do have several beds, comforters, towels, etc available for each pet, so anything that would be upsetting if it became damaged, we recommend keeping at home.

We encourage you to bring your pups own food to help cut down on the possible GI stress. However, if that is not an option, we feed Purina EN dry, an easily digestible food, to help ease GI stress as well.

Boarding dogs are walked a minimum of 3 times a day, more if needed. We also offer additional outside time Monday through Friday. We offer daycare while boarding (for regular daycare attendees only) as well as playtime. Playtime is two 15-20 minute sessions in addition to the regular potty breaks, in which your pet gets individualized time to play with toys and get lots of love and affection from one of our staff members. This playtime was designed in mind of our seniors, dog-aggressive, brachycephalic (bulldogs, pugs, Boston terriers, etc) friends, and/or any other dog that regular daycare is not a suitable option.

For more information on daycare, please see the day care tab.

Cats:

Your feline friends can lounge away the day in our sunny kitty condos with a second story view. They have scenic backdrops for kitty enjoyment and also have a natural kitty television to watch; the birds out the windows; throughout their stay.

Cats must be fully vaccinated in order to board at our facility. Fully vaccinated means a current annual FVRCP and Feline Rabies vaccine. We do not require the Feline Leukemia vaccine, but we do recommend it if your kitty is indoor/outdoor.

We encourage you to bring your cats own food to help cut down on the possible gastrointestinal stress. However, if that is not an option, we feed Purina EN dry, an easily digestible food, to help ease GI stress as well.

We offer Sunday pick-up between 6:30 p.m and 7:00 p.m. by appointment for an additional fee. Please inquire regarding holiday pickups as the hours may differ depending on the holiday.
